Job Summary
Under general direction of Prevention Supervisor, this position is responsible for significant organization-wide and community-based implementation of the Together WE CAN (TWC) initiative; focused on ending child abuse and neglect within a generation. This position is responsible for the day-to-day management of goals, objectives, and activities identified in strategic plan to end child abuse and neglect, as well as activities in support of the current County Board strategic plan. The TWC Coordinator works collaboratively with community-partners to maximize community involvement with specific attention to soliciting input and involvement of individuals with lived-experience in accessing county-based programs. The incumbent will be required to work evening and some weekend hours.
Job Description
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Plans, implements, and evaluates all responsibilities related to the Strategic Plan to End Child Abuse, and current County Board objectives and strategies.
- Organizes and conducts TWC Steering and subcommittee meetings with partners and community-stakeholders; develops work plan based on identified grant and strategic plan objectives in partnership with community-partners; provides coordination, oversight and direction to team members.
- Problem-solves with community members, external community-organizations, and internal partners any concerns or questions regarding the development of prevention/early intervention services and supports for families.
- Consults and collaborates with a wide array of organizations (e.g. non-profits, school districts, businesses), faith communities, community groups/committees, internal and external groups, and residents/individuals with lived-experience to develop linkages, identify needs, problem-solve, and implement solutions to improve outcomes for children and families.
- Oversees the implementation of TWC Steering and subcommittees activities including annual reporting and grant reporting.
- Demonstrates a commitment to support cultural diversity county-wide, actively supports the county’s inclusion, diversity, and equity initiatives, and works to address the needs of diverse and underserved communities.

- Works the hours and/or shifts assigned and begins and ends work on time. Some evening and weekend hours are required.
- Performs other related duties as required or assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Requires equivalency of a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Public Health, Community Planning, or related Social Services field and two years’ experience in a social work-related field with experience in community engagement and early intervention and prevention services for children and families. Preference given for experience and knowledge of child abuse prevention work focused on early intervention. Candidates must have strong community engagement skills, the ability to collaborate with multiple community partners, have strong attention to detail and ability to manage and track grant requirements and budget reporting. Experience with MS Office products required. A valid Driver's License and a reliable form of transportation for the performance of work responsibilities is required.
SUPERVISORY CONTROLS
With latitude for independent judgment, the employee works under the general supervision of the Prevention Supervisor. Work is performed according to established procedures and verbal or written instructions. Work is reviewed by the supervisor for accuracy and adherence to established procedures.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Typical characteristics of the regular, ongoing work environment of this position requires inside work, occurring both in an office and in the field in community-based settings. The position is multi-task oriented and includes periods of stress when balancing the needs/demands of multiple stakeholders. Evening and weekend hours may be required for accomplishing this work.
Physical activities include sedentary to light work: reaching, sitting, standing, walking, pushing, lifting, pulling, fingering, grasping, feeling, stooping, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions. Lifts and/or navigates up to 35 pounds on a routine basis in handling files and equipment necessary for performing the essential duties of the job. In the event of an emergency, physical requirements will increase and be more demanding in all areas listed.
